Designer wins award with Duropal kitchen...

With a chef in residence, for this family of keen entertainers and frequent party hosts, functionality and "wow" factor were important.

The design incorporates commercial functionality with a visually interesting aesthetic achieved through a focus on customisation and a blend of openness, integration, suspension and symmetry. An interesting combination of gloss and matte laminate, reconstituted stone, stainless steel, mirror, acrylic and concrete was used to take full advantage of texture, reflection and depth.

The open design allows guests to socialise and engage with the chef without obstructing the food preparation/cooking process. When choosing door and panel treatments Gavin turned to the Duropal range of decorative laminate and board offering unique surface structure and striking decors, thus delivering the "wow" factor that was paramount to the client's specification. So much so that it also wowed the judges, winning Gavin this prestigious design award.
